Stay and relax in this "hidden" gem of the home. Situated upstairs at the back of the house this poster queen bedroom, former dorm of the school, with views on the back yard and a almost 200 years old oak we call ‘Big Bertha’. It has a comfy seating and a small desk. The room has all the modern aminities like USB outlets and a HVAC smart thermostat. For the romantic and colder nights, you can crawl into the comfy chair and sit in front of a gas log stove.
The magnifent bathroom has a walk in tiled shower, double vanity and a beautiful soaking tub. This bathroom is an oase of serenity.

We were in Clarksville for a family reunion. I decided to book The Sunnyside Sisters B&B instead of a hotel. We are very glad I did! Not sure what we like most; the amazing breakfast, welcoming atmosphere, interesting conversation with Martijn, beautiful clean room, chickens walking about or the hospitality. Thank you Martijn + Eveline for an exceptional experience! We will be back. P.S. Happy Anniversary! (note by Eveline: this day 3 years ago we arrived here in Clarksville VA! Culinary skills
We had a wonderful time staying here at the Sunnyside Sisters, Marten’s culinary skills provided great breakfasts. The renovation is going great and I’m sure it will be first rate when finished.

Meeting in ‘the middle’
(Kate): Thank you for a wonderful stay and a beautiful meeting place for Bishop and me! We loved our time in this oasis halfway between Durham & Richmond and we’ll be back! (Bishop): Hello again! I told you I’d be spreading the word and now Kate will too! We’ve enjoyed our time together so much – it was exactly the little getaway that was needed, and the meals were absolutely delicious! Miss Mildred Suite
This room is dedicated to Miss Mildred Howell Carrington the sister that taught Art, History and English at the Sunny Side School for Young Ladies.
Miss Mildred was born on November 27, 1842 as the youngest daughter of Tucker Carrington and Mary Watkins Carrington. She was named after one of her grandmothers. Because she was the youngest of the four sisters that ran the School the pupils confided in Miss Mildred often. With some of the students she stayed in contact until the day she died.
On October 21, 1926 the last sister, Miss Mildred died at the age of 83 years.
